U.S. HOUSE OK’S ASBESTOS REFORMS TO STOP PERSONAL INJURY LAWYER FRAUD

Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse Lawsuit Abuse Trial Lawyers

On January 8th, the U.S. House passed an asbestos reform bill to stop the personal injury lawyer fraud and abuse that is excessively stripping money out of our nation’s asbestos compensation system.  The bill, H.R. 1927, includes the asbestos reform language of the FACT Act and also addresses class action lawsuit fairness.

Asbestos trust claim abuse is well documented, and it is hurting veterans and other future asbestos claimants.  Personal injury lawyers gin up weak evidence and troll for potential claimants, then file highly questionable or fraudulent claims – which put millions of compensation fund dollars in the personal injury lawyers own pockets.  As a result, the asbestos compensation trusts pay less and less to deserving claimants as the trust funds are drained by greed.

Watch this video from The Alliance for Asbestos Fraud Awareness to learn why passage of the reform legislation is of critical importance to veterans.

Now as the asbestos reform bill moves to the U.S. Senate for debate, the personal injury lawyers and their front groups are trying to undermine the many positive benefits of H.R. 1927. We can’t let them stop this important reform!
