Proposition 79 is an Attack on Your Healthcare

An initiative on the California ballot this year claims to help reduce the cost of prescription drugs. In truth, Proposition 79 is an attempt to overturn the will of California voters. It will make a few lawyers rich while actually increasing the price of the medicines and jeopardizing healthcare.

Proposition 79 lets personal injury lawyers file frivolous shakedown lawsuits every time a prescription is filled, simply by claiming the price of the drug is too high. They don't need evidence, clients or proof of harm to file the lawsuit. When it's over, the lawyer gets to keep all the money.
