Letters to the Editor: Cowboys and Lawyers

In regard to your June 6 editorial "Ten-Gallon Tort Reform": Civil justice reforms approved by Texas legislators last week are an important milestone for a state whose justice system the editorial page of The Wall Street Journal once dubbed a "Wild West embarrassment." For far too long, Texas civil courts have indeed been the nation's lawsuit-abuse poster child. From poster child for lawsuit abuse to model for reform, our state has set itself on the right course.
