Lawsuit Abuse Is Making Illinois Sick

I-LAW LAUNCHES REGIONAL TOUR TO HIGHLIGHT AREA'S 'SICK' HEALTHCARE LIABILITY SYSTEM

Lawsuit abuse is making Southern Illinoisans sick - literally. That's the diagnosis from Illinois Lawsuit Abuse Watch (I-LAW), which has launched a tour across Southern Illinois to educate the public about how the rampant lawsuit abuse problem in our region threatens patient care, curtails access to healthcare products and limits health services.

"Southern Illinois' healthcare system has many ailments," said Al Adomite, executive director of I-LAW. "Our healthcare system is being undermined by a number of abusive practices, including junk lawsuits, questionable class actions and court shopping. Our area's nationally-recognized status as the 'lawsuit abuse capital of the world' has created a health care emergency for every man, woman and child in Southern Illinois and its time we all came together to develop a cure."

Illinois Lawsuit Abuse Watch (I-LAW) is a grassroots watchdog group of concerned citizens, community leaders, small business people and non-profit organizations dedicated to educating the public about the widespread costs of lawsuit abuse.
